UCL VR Lab Team at IEEE VR2023

UCL will be involved in the fol­low­ing activ­i­ties at IEEE VR 2023 (in the rough order they appear):

• Sebas­t­ian, Ben and Antho­ny are run­ning a tuto­r­i­al on Ubiq.
• Antho­ny will give the keynote “Towards an Open Meta­verse” at the Open Access Tools and Libraries for Vir­tu­al Real­i­ty.
• Antho­ny is one of the co-organ­is­ers of the work­shop Open Access Tools and Libraries for Vir­tu­al Real­i­ty — 2nd Edi­tion.
• Nels is pre­sent­ing our paper “Ubiq-Genie: Lever­ag­ing Open-Source Frame­works for Enhanced Social VR Expe­ri­ences” in the Open Access Tools and Libraries for Vir­tu­al Real­i­ty work­shop. Full author list: Nels Numan, Daniele Giunchi, Ben J Con­g­don, Antho­ny Steed.
• Three of the stu­dents in the team are pre­sent­ing in the Doc­tor­al Con­sor­tium, Nels (online), Klara (in per­son), Ziwen (in per­son). Antho­ny is also a mentor.
• Ziwen is pre­sent­ing, in per­son, our paper “Towards Out­door Col­lab­o­ra­tive Mixed Real­i­ty: Lessons Learned from a Pro­to­type Sys­tem” at the 3D Recon­struc­tion, Dig­i­tal Twin­ning, and Sim­u­la­tion for Vir­tu­al Expe­ri­ences (ReDig­iTS) work­shop. Work done with our col­leagues at CYENS, on the RISE project. • Ben will present in per­son his paper “Monte-Car­lo Redi­rect­ed Walk­ing: Gain Selec­tion Through Sim­u­lat­ed Walks” in the main paper ses­sion Loco­mo­tion 1 (Mon­day, March 27, 2023, 13:30, Shang­hai UTC+8, Room B).
